Types of counselling: by phone, online and face to face

About me

Counselling is a talking therapy that can help us to explore and find out what is going on inside ourselves. It helps us to get in touch with our inner selves and find alternatives and resources from within.

I define my therapeutic approach as client-led, that is, I regard my clients as the expert of themselves and I work towards providing a warm, accepting environment where my clients feel safe to tell their story. Building a relationship based on trust, empathy, acceptance and non-judgement, which are values at the heart of the person-centred approach, facilitates healing and self-exploration.

I am originally from Mexico City, having lived in the UK for 25 years. I have experience working with people of different ages, cultural backgrounds, gender and sexual orientations.

Experience

I have worked as a counsellor in different settings. including an NHS IAPT Bereavement Service; at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts; and at a charity with survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

As a child counsellor, I have worked in primary and secondary schools. I have experience working with clients presenting ADHD, OCD, suicidal ideation, self-harm, depression, anger, anxiety, cultural and sexual identity issues, bereavement and loss.

Fees

I work privately in Islington and Brixton where we can meet in person. Alternatively, we can have remote sessions via an online platform or over the phone.

I offer time-limited and open-ended therapy that usually takes place once a week at an agreed time and day.

When you first get in touch, we can have a 15-minute phone consultation where we discuss briefly your reasons to approach therapy, availability and fees.

If you wish to go ahead, we then arrange a 50-minute initial assessment. This is a more in depth exploratory consultation where we decide whether we can work together. If this is the case, we then set up weekly sessions at an agreed day, time and location.

My fees are £60 for the 50-minutes initial consultation and subsequent sessions.

Concessions are available, so please enquire.
