I have trained in a wide variety of "talking therapies". My approach is "keep it simple". Invariably, helping clients to achieve some form of clarity can be a very powerful step in the right direction. I firmly believe that all of us have the potential to lead lives which are happier and more fulfilled. My role as psychotherapist, CBT counsellor & coach is to help clients achieve the goals that have brought them into counselling & coaching.

My varied training (Psychotherapy, Humanistic Counselling, CBT, Coaching, Psychodynamic Counselling, Adult Career Guidance and Solution Based Focus Therapy) enables me to integrate different techniques into my work which helps me to be more flexible to my client needs.

In addition my own time as a client has given me the opportunity to experience the counselling process, which I firmly believe helps me to be more empathic with my clients.

I have been in private practice for 15 years seeing a wide variety of clients with different issues. I was a counsellor with West Leicestershire Mind for 7 years dealing with a wide variety of mental health issues. My time as a counsellor with Cruse involved me working with loss and bereavement and my experience as a counsellor with Victim Support enabled me to work with clients who were encountering difficulties coping with their experiences as victims of crime. I ran programmes for the long-unemployed for 7 years helping to boost self confidence, self esteem and to prepare my clients for a return to work. This involved me using a range of motivation techniques and exercises in addition to my counselling and coaching skills.

In addition, I currently work for a number of Employee Assitance Programmes (EAPs) so I am familiar with stress experienced in the workplace and the effect upon clients.

    £40 for an hour.
